The United World Republic: Rules and Policies

Clan members will adhere to the following rules and policies without question. These laws have been created to maintain the United World Republic to its best keeping: failure to comply with the following rules may subject ANY law breakers to negative consequence and/or punishment.

The proper method to manage punishment of law breakers is referred to as the Domestic Moderation Policy. The Domestic Moderation Policy is separated into two individual clauses: one relating to channel activity and the other relating to website behavior.

SECTION 1: For any channel or forum moderator, the Domestic Moderation Policy includes the action of sentencing punishment is as follows:

1.) The individual will receive a public or verbal warning.
2.) The individual will be kicked/temporarily removed from the channel and/or forums if the warning is disregarded or if the individual continues.
3.) The individual will be banned from the channel and/or forums until the moderator feels the individual worthy of returning. This period of time is decided by the moderator and it will be messaged to the banned individual immediately. This period of time can range from five minutes to 24 hours, or even permanently if felt necessary. Any operator of higher authority than the moderator may overrule the ban at anytime.

* This applies to both members and non-members.
* Moderators are chosen by only Commanders. Nobody is guaranteed power except current Commanders.
* Disciplinary action will be brought upon all moderators that fail to do their job as a moderator, abuse their powers, or designate/grant access to an unauthorized user. The disciplinary action is determined by a current Commander.

SECTION 2: For any clan moderator or individual member with the power to apply disciplinary action to a situation unrelated to channel activity, the Domestic Moderation Policy includes the action of sentencing punishment as follows:

1.) The individual will lose their privilege to lead or participate in squads, in-house tourneys, and foreign tourneys.
2.) The individual will be demoted one rank with the approval of one member of a higher authority, unless the moderator is a Commander.
3.) The individual will be demoted to the rank of Private with the approval of one member of a higher authority, unless the moderator is a Commander.
4.) The individual is removed from the clan entirely.

Members of the United World Republic should obey to the following rules:

I. Respect

Treat EVERY member respect. Please show any non-member respect, as well, regardless the circumstances. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 1 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

II. Uniformity

Please remain in United World Republic uniform at all times. This shows that we are all organized and maximizes the affect of being united. Every member must be in uniform at all times, unless given permission otherwise. Every member should be wearing the United World Republic tag, [W], at the end of their account name.

Example: Telephant[W]

If you have a bot in the channel, they must be in United World Republic uniform, unless you already have another client in the channel with the [W] tag. If you do have a bot in the channel, make sure its name resembles your United World Republic account name. Profiles are also included in this law. Every member should have the appropriate profile format in their description, as directed by your recruiter. If a recruit or member does not follow this format please contact an ops holder, in which they will deal with the situation.

Example:
Clan: United World Republic
Rank: Private (Your Rank Here)
Recruited By: Telephant[W] (Your Recruiter Here)

Any other additional information is fine as long as those things are in the profile, with appropriate caps, spelling, indentation, and spacing. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 1 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

III. Loyalty

If you are member of the United World Republic, you must not only leave all other clans, but you are not allowed to join any other clans/teams/guilds on Battle.net as long as you serve in the United World Republic. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 2 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

IV. Gaming

Battle.net was originally designed as a gaming community where gamers from around the world collect to game with one another. Therefore, the United World Republic is to be considered a gaming clan. The United World Republic supports all Battle.net gaming clients and practices all game types, so when someone is to ask what type of gaming clan are we, the common reply would be melee on any gaming client on any platform.

When gaming in-house (member vs. member), members may not create secret alliances or backstab any clanmate. The goal is to work and cooperate with your clanmate in order to win in a sportsman like fashion.

When gaming publically or with other guilds/clans/teams, remember to remain courteous and fair. Any complaints about the gaming tactics of any member will be investigated and will be put into consideration during the monthly re-evaluation.

Foreign tourneys and clan wars are to be coordinated and managed by authorized members only. Any member may suggest the offer to the current Commanders of the United World Republic but they may not organize or direct the actual event.

In event of an inter-clan tourney, the best gamers or otherwise designated gamers, will participate in the event. The choice of who participates is ultimately decided by the domestic event director or a current Commander. Any gamer has the right to refuse to participate in the event as well as holding the right to request to partake in it. Applying for a spot in any inter-clan tourney does not guarantee that member an actual position, but more so leaves that member’s participation up for consideration. The rules of each tourney are to be determined by the event directors of both the United World Republic and the opposing guild/clan/team.

Usage of hacks, any third party software, codes, and cheating methods go against the agreement contract that is originally signed with Battle.net when creating each new account; therefore, these tools are not permitted to be used by any member of the United World Republic.

We practice a fair game, and if it is found that anyone is using hacks or cheating in games, they will be exiled on the spot. If you observe anyone that is using them inside or outside of the clan, please report them immediately.

Joining Clan UWR? Empty Re: Joining Clan UWR?

V. Ranking System

There are a number of different ranks set down in the United World Republic. Please remember that as a member of the United World Republic that all ranks, promotions, and awards are earned. No member shall ever join with a higher rank than Private. No member is allowed to rejoin with a higher rank than Private, unless specifically stated otherwise by a current Commander.

The ranking system is an intricate structure. The ranks help members progress and set aspirations for themselves. To help ensure that members are getting the most out of their current rank and that members will continue to create goals, the following clauses must be observed:

A. Chain of Command - You must not only respect all higher ranking members, but you must obey their commands, unless those commands are irrelevant to the benefit of the United World Republic. If you feel the orders given by a member are unnecessary please contact a higher ranking member to consider overriding the orders given. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 1 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

B. Re-Evaluation Day – Every first day of each month, members’ ranks will be re-evaluated. During this time period, the leaders of the United World Republic will review each member’s role in the clan. After each member’s review, the member will be assigned a new rank, according to their dedication and ability to execute the obligations of their passed rank.

• Please note that not every member will receive a new rank; members are also subjected to demotion if felt necessary during re-evaluation. If a member is demoted on this day, they have the right to question the reason, but they do not have the right to argue it. Hopefully this motivates these members to try harder for next month.

• Please also note that this does not stop members from their regular promotions. Re-evaluation Day still applies to Enlisted members, but Enlisted members still have the opportunity to be promoted if their requirements have been filled within the month.

C. Regular Promotions – Enlisted members are automatically promoted on a weekly basis. Being that members are given the rank of Private First Class at the end of their first week, it takes approximately eight weeks to climb the ranks to Warrant Officer status. At this point, all promotions are based upon the ability to execute duties, as stated in the Re-Evaluation Day Clause.

• All regular promotions are to be done by the designated rank. All regular promotions are susceptible to be overridden by a higher authority than the promoter. Abuse of the privilege to promote will result in demotion and/or possible expulsion.

VI. Diplomacy

Only the current Commanders hold the right to create foreign diplomacy with any other guild/clan/team. There are no exceptions to this rule. Any member can request diplomacy or have a representative from the other clan request diplomacy, but this will only put that clan up for review. The United World Republic holds a high name and will not associate themselves with clans of a behaviorally distorted nature.

Please respect the current diplomacy and alliances of the United World Republic at all times. This includes staying friendly with allied gamer, their clans, and everyone in their clan’s channel. If an allied gamer enters our channel, please welcome them and treat them as one of our own members.

Please do your best to avoid confrontation with any enemies. If an enemy contacts you in an anything but friendly manner, please notify a Commander, in which they will deal with the matter from that point.

Wearing the United World Republic tag represents all and every member in United World Republic, so please think twice before saying anything that could affect our foreign relations.

Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 2 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

VII. Squads

The main purpose of a squad is to increase member activity and overall satisfaction with the United World Republic. Therefore, the following rules will be observed to ensure that the presence of clan squads only benefits the United World Republic:

• Only members of Officer status may create a squad.
• All squads will be approved by a Commander before creation.
• All squads must have a legitimate purpose for existence.
• All Squads must have a purpose related to Battle.net game play unless specifically authorized by a Commander.
• Political, Anti-Government, Anti-Battle.net, Anti-UWR, Anti-Member, Warring/Hacking, Religion, Anti-Religion, Ethnic, or Racial Squads are forbidden.
• Squad leaders must create a list of rules/guidelines that must be followed by all members of that squad, including the leader.
• All squads will remain active; the squad must hold regular meetings or practice regularly. Commanders have the right to observe these meetings or practices at any time with or without warning.
• Squad leaders are the only squad members that have the right to grant or deny membership to clan members.
• The squad leader has the right to resign from their squad, at any time, if another squad leader has been designated to fill that role. This action must be approved by a Commander before being executed.
• The squad leader has the right to disband their squad at any time.
• Commanders have the right to disband any squad at any time.
• Any squads that break any United World Republic law will face disciplinary action as a whole. These actions are determined by a Commander.

Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 2 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

VIII. Recruitment

Any Battle.net user is eligible to join the United World Republic, but members are encouraged to use good judgment when recruiting. No test is required of the user. A member has the right to refuse to recruit any user, but that does not mean that the user may not be recruited by another member. All new members will start as a Recruit and will create a new tag and will fill out their profile according to the Uniformity code. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under the Domestic Moderation Policy.

During the recruitment process a new member should be informed of all of the benefits that exist when a member of the United World Republic. Please remind the new member that we have a site, forums, ventrillo, teamspeak, and active channels. Please encourage the new member to participate in all of these aspects of the clan.

Remember to greet each unfamiliar face when they enter the channel. This demonstrates our amiable intentions and welcomes a potential member in nicely. If a user rejects the invitation in clan, continue to treat the user with respect. This can either change the user’s mind about joining or it may help the user remember the United World Republic in the future when discussing diplomacy.

In order to recruit, you must be a member that has obtained the rank of Warrant Officer W1. At this rank, you are granted the ability to add members to the site. After recruiting a new member, add them to the site under they name they chose and create a new password for them. After creating them an account, please whisper them the password and tell them to log in. Logging in as soon as the online account is created helps prevent fraudulent activity on the website.

After creating them an account, please whisper them the password and tell them to log in. Logging in as soon as the online account is created helps prevent fraudulent activity on the website.

IX. Website

The website was built using BlueThrust BattleScipts v3. While a member of the United World Republic, please respect the corporation that has provided the scripts, and the service that loads our domestic domains. Please also refrain from abusing the features and privileges that BlueThrust designates to you. Revert back to these rules and policies when performing actions on the website that you are unsure about.

The United World Republic does not only require activity in the channel, but activity on the site is also required. Website logins are much easily recorded and activity as a member is much easily noted. Next to each member account on the clan roster, is a number. This number is the “Days Since Login” number, otherwise known as a member’s DSL. Please keep the DSL low by logging in on a preferably daily basis.

After a week of absence without proper notification, the website automatically removes you from the roster. Please take note to never let your personal DSL reach “7”. All Enlisted members are to maintain a DSL lower than “7” at all times. All Warrant Officers are to maintain a DSL lower than “5”. All Officers are to maintain a DSL lower than “3”. All Generals and Commanders should be logging in on a daily basis at the least. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 2 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

X. Forums

All members are encouraged to participate on our clan forums. Contribution to the forums helps members remain active, updated with clan current events, well acquainted with other members, and overall more satisfied with the United World Republic as a whole. Please remember to encourage new members to register on the forums for this helps these new members consider the United World Republic more of a home, influencing them to stay with our clan.

Remember when using the forums that you must remain respectful at all times when posting a reply, quote, hyperlink, download, or video. Forum moderators hold the right to move, edit, or completely delete any post. Do not post anything disrespectful or anything that could potentially cause any form of harm to any viewing guest or registered member. Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 1 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

XI. Merging

As agreed by the initial leaders of the United World Republic, the United World Republic has no intent of merging into any clan. This has been decided because we would rather leave our members with the right to choose where they want to be rather than forcing them to join another clan.

For any clan that wishes to merge into the United World Republic, they may do so after discussing future relations with the current Commanders of the United World Republic. Any clan wishing the merge MUST be a long standing allied clan with the United World Republic. This will prevent engaging with and, more so, recruiting any unwanted or inappropriate members or beliefs into our own clan. The leaders of the merging clan may enter the clan at a higher initial rank as according to part of the agreement set down prior to the merge. This is the only exception to RULE V (Ranking System).

XII. Awards

There are numerous ways in which each member can become more involved with the clan. Demonstrating the ability to become a better member is the most encouraged way to display loyalty to the clan. Awards were initially created to show appreciation towards efforts made by members, and they will be granted accordingly to our site. If you are able to demonstrate an ability that qualifies for an award, please contact a Commander. If this ability requires a member’s demonstration of dedication then the Commander will reward the member when the Commander feels that the individual has truly earned it. Please do not apply for dedication awards.

Joining Clan UWR? Empty Re: Joining Clan UWR?

XIII. Bots

All members are entitled to using bots in and out of the channel. When using a bot, members must notify people that they are using a bot by having it wear the bot tag, ]W[.

Example:
Telephant]W[

When in the channel, you must always be wearing the tag. Do not sign onto your regular account twice, for the number symbol (#) is tagbanned as a precaution to terroristic warring. Each member is granted to use one bot in the channel (a total of two clients are permitted due to the presence of a gaming client). Each extra bot may locate themselves in our back-up channel or they may strategically locate themselves in public channels with an appropriate advertisement on the subject of our clan.

When advertising our clan please use the following as your idle message in /emote:

|| Clan UWR || United World Republic || Looking for active gamers, idlers, and leaders! || SC/BW/D2/WAR3 || Site! || Forums! || Ventrillo! || 24/7 members and ops! || Trivia || Clan UWR ||

Copying and pasting is required to prevent any errors. When the channel has reached 35 users, members are ordered to relieve the channel of bots, and empty them into the back-up channel. Due to the auto-rejoin feature programmed into many Battle.net bots, any bot that isn’t moved when requested will be banned and then immediately unbanned by an active moderator.

Failure to comply with this law will be punishable by a moderator under Section 1 of the Domestic Moderation Policy.

XIV. Resignation

When a member resigns they must post their resignation with their reasoning on the forums and personally confront a Commander about the subject.

After a member resigns they receive one of three statuses: Ally, Neutral, Enemy. To maintain Ally Status, a member must retire from Battle.net completely. To receive Neutral Status, a member must either quit the United World Republic to either game as a solo player or the member must be retiring to join a currently allied clan. To receive Enemy Status, a member must have retired to join an unallied or enemy clan or the member retired in a inappropriate manner.

In the case of a retired member rejoining they must speak with a Commander on the subject, in which case they will be admitted or denied re-admission to the clan. If the rejoining member is still of Allied Status they will almost always be welcomed back in. If the rejoining member is of Neutral Status their re-admission depends upon the choice of the Commander, in which case the decision can be overridden by another Commander. If the rejoining member is of Enemy Status they will almost always be denied re-admission.
